photograph without a camera
There is natural light coming from the right hand side of the window, and shining onto black vanished wood on of the window sill causing it to reflect - this creates harsh shadows. The window frame has created a shadow over the window frame which has created a divide between the two sections of reflecting light. The blind also created a contrast where its blocking the overwhelming natural light and dividing the white light and green grass. The front of the window sill is totally black and barely showing the vents on the front.
The linear corner of the window, window sill top and side, and the blind creates a range of Geometric shapes. The focus of the eye level photo is the inside corner of the window frame and it is taken from a diagonal view , but the entire photos in sharp focus. I think this photo would be interesting in harsh black and white, as the green of the grass is not an essential factor and it would allow the viewer to really focus of the contrast of white light on the black window frame/ sill and the white blinds.

evaluation
This image is pretty much exactly how I envisioned it apart from the framing is slightly more diagonal in this image than originally intended. There was also supposed to be a small section on the right hand side t the bottom that had grass showing the window, and vents showing slightly at the bottom front of the window sill. I found describing the image came naturally to me but it was challenging ensuring that I incorporated all the elements of the image, and clarified light, angles, and framing. I tried to frame the image making sure I concentrated on the geometric and linear shapes. I think this is evident in the image taken from my description, and the contrast between the light and dark is clear and effective. |

evaluation:
In these images I focused on line and light. I used the idea of symmetry in many different ways for example in the seventh image i used the reflection of a plastic board to create the effect of symmetry with the glass doors. Also, although not identical, in the second to last photograph I focused on the top two corners and used the corner of the lockers which are parallel to the corner of the bannisters to mimic each other and create the idea of symmetry - also the reflection of light on the floor in line with the other assets creates some detail. In the fourth to last image I used the idea of contrast; firstly between the artificial linear lights and the dark linear wall parallel, and secondly between the artificial light being shin on my the natural light coming from the ceiling windows.
evaluation:
I mainly focused on the element of line in there images. I find the way everyday settings have such intricate geometry fascinating. When taking and choosing the images i tried to make each one individual.
FILM IMAGES
Image on the right used filter number 3 to create a greater contrast and therefore less black and white, and exposure of 5 seconds. The image on the top left used filter number 2, and was exposed for 7 seconds. The image on the bottom left used filter umber 1, and an exposure of 5 seconds. The focus on these images is relatively clear and consistently so i need to work on accuracy of exposure time as well as creating the correct amount of contrast.
